Speaker:
Carla Nye, DNP, CPNP-BC, CNE, CHSE

Session Overview:
Simulation use in Nurse Practitioner programs is widespread, with wide variation in how simulation is developed, integrated, and evaluated.  This presentation will explore the use of nurse practitioner simulation as a foundational element to intentionally prepare resilient and effective clinicians.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the current internal and external environmental factors that impact the production of practice ready NP’s to meet workforce needs.
  2. Explore the characteristics of NP professionals who are resilient and practice ready.
  3. Compare and contrast the potential of a simulation-based NP educational model with current NP educational model in creating NP’s that can meet workforce needs.
